It's official! Paul and I tied the knot on May 31, 2008 on what was hands down the most magical day of our lives.
We were humbled completely by the tremendous effort our loved ones made to join us on our wedding day. Many of our guests traveled on planes, trains and automobiles from Southern California, the Pacific Northwest, Chicago, the East Coast and even France.
The ceremony at Grace Cathedral was amazing. From taking my grandfather's arm to walk down the aisle, to standing there at the alter with Paul's hand in mine, repeating vows that have endured for hundreds if not thousands of years, my heart was full to bursting at the sheer power of it all. As committed as we were to each other before, that day there was a subtle shift in my ... purpose, if you will. We are our own, core little family now. As much as you know certain things to be true, there's no describing that absolute realization of the commitment we'd just made to each other.
Following pictures at the church, we were whisked away in a gorgeous, antique Rolls where we took some fun pics on the seawall near the St. Francis YC and then on our own little deck where this journey officially began (when Paul proposed) on May 18th of last year.
The reception was held at the San Francisco Yacht Club in Tiburon. What a fun day!! We arrived by boat, chauffered by our dear friend and neighbor, Dave Carrel with a spectacular salute by the Tiburon Fire Department who shot off their water cannons as we drove by.
From seeing all of our dear friends and family waving wildly from the deck to sharing a spectacular meal prepared by Chef Reny, hugging everyone, laughing at the antics of the children, dancing the night away and feeling like a fairy princess, I can't imagine a more magnificent day.
How truly blessed we are. Not only to start our married life together with such a wonderful party but to have the love and support of such amazing people surrounding us. Thank you all for being such a special part of our lives. We wouldn't be the people we are now without all of you. We love you!!
Cheers to a lifetime of love!
